THE HISTORY

San Clemente Island Goats (SCIG) are a unique breed of goat thought to be descendants of goats brought to the island by merchant vessels sailing the Pacific as early as the 17th Century although no one knows for sure.

They flourished on the island as feral goats until the 1980's when many were exterminated. Fortunately, an animal rescue group, Fund For Animals, stepped in to rescue these magnificent creatures.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

The last few years have been difficult for everyone but particularly for the ranch. We are asking for donations of time, money and veterinary services to keep our goats safe and healthy.

Our immediate needs include feed, fecal exams, castration or banding, shots, hoof trims, ID tagging and microchipping. We also need volunteers to work on the ranch with fencing and carpentry projects.

We accept financial donations via Venmo and Cash App. To make a donation, please contact Karen directly.

Occasionally, we host fundraisers so please check our Facebook page for event information.
